ABOUT
From December 2026 through February 2027 we will be running a 6v6 league. All games will be played at NYA Sports in Newtown, CT.
For the 2026-27 season, the divisions include grades 3/4 & 5/6. Team managers will create their teams in registration and players can roster with their teams during registration. Teams will wear their town pinnies as uniforms during the duration of the league. Pinnies must be reversible and players of a team must have the same colors.
Rules & Format
"6s" is a fast paced version of lacrosse. What makes it different from traditional field lacrosse is there are only 6 players on the field. 5 "runners" and 1 goalie. Every runner plays with a short stick and there are no true positions. Everyone must play offense and defense. After each goal there are no face-offs, the goalie will outlet the ball to their team, after being scored on, and they will transition onto offense. It mimics the same flow as basketball.
These set of rules are used for the Olympic format of lacrosse and will allow our athletes to get more reps per time played.

What is included
Scrimmages (Weeks 1 & 2)
The first 2 weeks of the season will be "scrimmages". Teams will have an opportunity to play a quarter with various teams and have some time to practice. This is intended to acclimate both players and coaches to the format of the game, as well as identify areas of focus for their respective team throughout the season.
Games
8 games are guaranteed for all teams. This will include playoffs where we will name champions for each division.
